Welcome to the Hantsport Fire Department website. This website represents the activities of our dedicated firefighters who take pride in their volunteer profession and who are committed to the protection and safety of the residents of the Town of Hantsport and surrounding communities in the Municipality of West Hants and Municipality of the County of Kings, as well as the Horton First Nations Reserve.
The Hantsport Fire Department operates eight (8) apparatus out of two stations including two Engines, a Pumper/Tanker, two Rescues, a 21' Water Rescue Craft, a 12' Zodiac Water Rescue Craft and a (delivery in May '10) Mobile EMO Command Unit. Annually, our members respond to an average of 150 calls for a variety of incidents including all types of fires, medical first response, water rescue, vehicle collisions and other emergencies in our community. We are an integral part of the mutual aid system, working closely with our neighboring departments to provide enhanced services and protection. The Hantsport Fire Department has an active fire prevention program that is carried out in coordination with local schools, day camps, summer camps, senior's complexes and local industry.
